Together, we’re making an enormous difference to Scotland’s animals

Imagine for a moment a hare, running free across bare, frosty fields. If it wasn’t for the support you’ve given OneKind in the past, a dog could be chasing her, preparing to tear her apart on its owner’s command.

Hare coursing is now illegal, and we’re lobbying hard to get the law tightened further.

Imagine a dog lying by a fire, lazily wagging her tail when her owner comes in. If it wasn’t for the support you’ve given OneKind in the past, that tail could have been cut off at birth.

Tail-docking is now illegal in Scotland.

Imagine a seal contentedly feeding her pup as the winter waves crash on the beach. If it wasn’t for the support you’ve given OneKind in the past she could have been shot dead. It’s now illegal to kill a seal in Scotland without a license, and we’re working hard to get it banned completely.

This winter, animals are better off thanks to your support for OneKind. Please make a gift to our 2016 campaigns to protect vulnerable animals.

Earlier this year, we revealed the shocking welfare problems caused by the huge and under-regulated pet trade. Internet retail, backroom intensive breeding, the demand for ever more exotic species. The trade is out of control and our pets are the victims. In direct response to our campaign, the Scottish Government announced a major review of the industry to take place in 2016.

Our campaign to close the loopholes that allow fox hunting to continue in Scotland has also set us up for a big step forward next year. Again, the Government has committed to a review which we hope will lead to new legislation to finally ban hunting completely by the end of 2016.

And last but not least, our long campaign to ban electric shock collars has finally resulted in some good news. The Scottish Government is now consulting on introducing a ban. We hope by next Christmas to be celebrating the end of these cruel and unnecessary devices.

Together, we’re making an enormous difference to the lives of animals. Every one of our successes would not have been possible without you. Thank you.

Let's continue to work together in 2016 to make sure that:

  • No fox is ripped apart by dogs on their master’s orders
  • No dog is given an electric shock by her best friend
  • No pet suffers because its needs cannot be met

That’s what we aim to deliver, so please make a donation to our 2016 campaigns. In particular, please consider setting up a regular donation by direct debit. As a very small charity, such a commitment is invaluable and will allow us future security when planning our campaign agenda for the forthcoming year.
